Congress Masala, where do we begin? As a kid I used to love it when my late grand father used to bring this from a shop in Basavangudi, it was extremely tasty and we always wanted to have handfuls of it. Many shops have been closed, it was a rainy evening and I really wanted to have Congress Kadlekai. My father is also extremely fond of this, so he helped! He removed the peel or chilka, we aren’t getting the peeled ones right now. After roasting them, the 2 of us sat together for around 20 minutes to remove it, he rubbed batches of the peanuts and we blew the peel or chilka into our garden, while amusing our puppy! This goes along really well with a cup of tea or coffee and is even more tasty during the rainy season! The ingredients are simple common ingredients that you will have at home for sure, nothing exotic really. The hing really does play a supportive role in bringing out the taste. I use Golden Harvest’s Hing, it comes in a powder form in a plastic box. Really handy and affordable. I would suggest getting powdered hing or asafoetida for all my recipes. Let me know how it is after you make it! [one_third][/one_third][one_third][/one_third][one_third_last][/one_third_last] [recipe_card]
