1. Add 1 cup of butter in a bowl, I prefer cubing it, it is easier to measure it
  2. Next, add 1/2 cup of white sugar to this,
  3. Next, add 1/4 cup soft brown sugar to this, this gives it s a nutty taste
  4. Next, cream the mixture for about 2-3 minutes
  5. Add 1/2 teaspoon Ossoro Vanilla Essence to this and mix again
  6. In another bowl, add 1 tablespoon of water
  7. Add 1 teaspoon baking powder
  8. Add 1 teaspoon oil
  9. Add 1/4 teaspoon of Salt
  10. Mix all the ingredients well, next add the foaming mixture into the creamed butter mixture
  11. Add the all purpose flour or maida in batches, I have used 2 and 1/4 cup of maida for this recipe
  12. I’ve added it in several batches, let us skip over all that, I have used my hands to finish kneading the dough! This one step is a whole lot easier with a stand mixer!
  13. Line your baking tray with baking or parchment sheet after applying a brushing of butter
  14. Now using a tablespoon as measure, partition the dough and roll it round
  15. Prepare as many as you can fit in a tray
  16. Using a fork, prick holes, this helps in cooking them through and through
  17. Pop them into a preheated oven 160C for a maximum of 10 minutes
  18. Take out of oven and let it cool for 10 minutes and then serve
  19. Prepare the remaining dough the same way, you can add candied cherries or chocolate chips as well
  20. Take out of oven and let it cool for 10 minutes and then serve
