Perfect to have with a cup of coffee or tea in the evening!
Whenever anyone buys a the sweet biscuit at home, the first question anyone asks “No Salt Biscuit?”. One of the last videos I made was of the sweet butter biscuit! It was a hit at home. Everyone still wanted the salted biscuit.
The biscuit tastes amazing! It is doesn’t have any baking soda or powder. It does use Maida or All purpose flour, it is still very wholesome.
Having a stand mixer is a big help, you can make the dough within 5-6 minutes and it comes out really soft, perfect consistency for a biscuit that is crispy on the outside and melting in the mouth.
This biscuit is approved by my dog Munchkin. She loved it so much, that she asked me for one every time I saw her! She follows the warming aroma and starts to throw her bowl around asking for more!
If you do make this recipe, please share a photo of how you made it and how it turned out? I’m going to be making a few more biscuits over the next few weeks!
Let me know in the comments below if you make them? Or do you want another recipe? You can Ask!

Instructions
- I have used a Stand Mixture for this recipe
- In a bowl of a stand mixer or mixing bowl, Add 3/4 cup unsalted room temperature butter
- Add 3 tablespoons sugar
- Add 1 teaspoon salt
- Add 1 pinch of hing or asafoetida
- Add 1 teaspoon each of Jeera and Ajwain or Carraway seeds
- Cream the butter and other ingredients well, with my stand mixture it took around 3-4 minutes
- Bring all the ingredients to the middle of the bowl when the mixture sticks to the sides of the bowl
- Next add 1 cup of maida or all purpose flour and mix
- In a second batch add 1/2 cup of maida or all purpose flour and mix all ingredients again
- Using a spatula bring the ingredients to the centre of the bowl
- Keep aside
- Prepare a tray with baking paper or a cookie sheet, I have used a silicone cookie sheet from ikea
- I have used a small size cookie scooper
- Shape them round, keep them spaced out so that they don’t touch, after they spread
- Place inside a middle row of your preheated oven, for 10-14 minutes
- After baking remove from the oven and keep on a cooling tray for 10 minutes, this makes it crispy
- I got around 18 biscuits from this recipe, enjoy it with a cup of tea or coffee!
